Open the GUI, and click Customize>Advanced. Then click the add button, browse to the exe file added and on the right side double click on the write and you can select from read write or both.

So is the setting supposed to end up being a "Yes" or a "No"? I guess this section is for exceptions/exclusions -- right?

I think you are in the wrong tab, TomAZ. The yes/no option is in the User-Space tab. You want to go to Advanced, then look for MemoryGuard and add the file to the Exception List with ReadWrite. If you've already added the exe in the User-Space tab, you may want to remove that entry there as well.

    The new beta is ready:

    Software: http://www.blueridge.com/support/products/beta2/AppGuardSetup.exe
    Release Notes: http://www.blueridge.com/support/products/beta2/AppGuard_ReleaseNotes_3_5_6-Rev0.pdf

    The following fixes were made:
    1. During an upgrade AppGuard was not retaining the user's trusted publishers and alert settings.
    2. Including a folder path containing a “%” character in the policy resulted in AppGuard aborting.
    3. When browsing to a folder while adding a user-space folder or a Guarded Application folder, AppGuard would sometimes add the parent path to the policy.
If you have any questions, please email AppGuard@BlueRidge.com.

Was the bug where AG shows the wrong Guarded Apps settings for Lock Down mode not fixed?

Thanks for confirming the privacy settings in Lock Down Mode has been fixed. It was not listed with the change log posted here in the thread.

Is this now meant to maintain application specific ignored alerts as well as the basic alert settings?
After upgrading from the previous beta, all app specific alerts were removed and replaced by those in AppGuard's default policy. Is this by design or a bug?
    Thanks :)

AppGuard has always done that when upgrading to a new version. If it were a bug, I would have thought they would have fixed it by now, so I assume it's by design. :doubt:

    Perhaps Barb_C can clarify this.

Have the new beta on my win 7 x64 machine. So far all is well. Haven't installed elsewhere yet.

After thinking about it, I remember that the first v3 builds didn't have any configurable basic settings for the alerts, just the ability to ignore application specific alerts.
It would be nice to be able retain the app specific alert settings, so like you I'm now assuming that this is by design.

I think it's a bug. I will see if this bug fix can be squeezed in before the actual release.

Hello Barb. I posted earlier that I seem to cannot get Windows Media Center to work when it is put into the 'Guarded Apps' list. No matter what I do in the other locations it will not work. What comes up when I load WMC is "Media Center has stopped working." In AppGuard it always only shows "Prevented <Windows Problem Reporting> from writing to memory of <Windows Media Center>."

Windows Media Player works just fine.

    Any help appreciated,
    Robert

I have not done any in depth testing, but so far with my normal routine use I have experienced no issues.
