    I would like to use MBR-Guard stand-alone on a x64 maschine...

It would be fantastic if blueridgenetworks would provide a stand-alone installer or a custom install option for the main product.
Note: I have a license for AppGuard.. ;)

Is there anyone running AppGuard alongside Online Armor++? How are they working together? AppGuard is blocking OA to write to some processes, which makes me believe OA isn't using it's full capabilities due to interference from AppGuard to protect my system.

I would expect OA++ and Appguard to get along like onion juice and orange juice. Not a very a good mix.

    Hi Shadek

They are working together. I did add OA's exe's to the Appguard exception list for memory writes.

How stable AppGuard in on 64-bit currently? As it seems that it has the same kind of policy approach as Defensewall, and for some extent Sandboxie, and those programs currently don't promise to be foolproof as there are some issues with Microsoft's Patch Guard. Does AppGuard not need to hook in the kernel, or is the case same here: lessened security on 64-bit?

Also, how is the licensing policy? I couldn't find information on whether you can test it first, and how long one license lasts.

    Thanks, Pete.

I've added them now and I am yet to see any errors! Your advice seems to have resolved the potential problems I had!

Once again reporting, after testing AppGuard and OA++ together against aprox 500 malware samples released the last 48 hours on-execution. AppGuard settings at medium. This combination protected me to 100%. Even when Ikarus and Emsisoft AV engines didn't detect malicious (detected over 91% of samples) activity and OA didn't specifically tell me the files were doing something malicious, AppGuard stopped the malware from being planted onto my system at all times!

Perfect combination, and once again thank you Pete, for making this work without problems!

    shadek,
Thanks for testing. Just wondering, under normal working conditions not testing malware, would it be possible to run AppGuard in high protection combined with Online Armor ++ and thanks again.

Yes, it would work perfectly! There's no conflicts and an excellent layered setup which is extremely light, and still you're protected with two world class antivirus engines as well as HIPS and extremely strict policy (by AppGuard). It is my impression that it's fool proof.

I believe that AppGuard offers a 30 day trial. I don't recall the particulars of their current license agreement, but I think that has been covered earlier in this thread. I would also like to know what the differences in protection are, if any, between 32 & 64-bit systems.

Current license agreement covers free upgrades of AppGuard 3.x.

Are you running this combination in a 32-bit or 64-bit OS shadek?

    shadek,
I know Pete runs Sandboxie on his setup as I do with Appguard. Are you running Sandboxie also with AppGuard and Online Armor ++? Thanks.

I am curious what some of you think about this person's review of AppGuard over on CNET:
Does any of this stuff have merit, or is this just another pseudo-expert trying to impress people? :)

    64-bit.

I am not using Sandboxie as I personally don't feel the need for it; I use other virtualization software for testing. But Sandboxie worked perfectly together with OA++ when I tested the setup briefly. Running with AppGuard, Sandboxie and OA should be fine as long as you exclude required processes and allow the to write to other ones as Pete suggested.

This is a known issue between Sandboxie/Chrome/OA. The workaround at the present time is to exclude Chrome in OA. So have that in mind if you're going AppGuard/Sandboxie/OA and using Chrome.

    Pete,
Thanks for confirm. I am just trying to figure out if I might go with Premium or ++ version of ONline Armor. I usually do not run virus scanners except for on demand especially with AppGuard and Sandboixie installed. Thanks again.

Online Armor ++ is sort of mix between an on-access and on-demand virus scanner. It only scans files you choose to execute. So it's not constantly scanning your files in the background.

I installed AppGuard latest version in a Windows Xp SP3 machine ( recently formatted) , restarted but when i get back Appguard asks me to register ( 29 days trial ...) and give me "enter an integer between 0 and 1" error. It is very annoying and I cant do anything. o_O

    Suggestions?
