This also is questionable. In their Privacy Policy:
How they determine abuse and fraud, except for obvious cases they exemplified. Tho I understand a difficulty of clearly explain them (as that may give criminals loopholes), these sentences have a room for stretch.
Why such competent people still use sticky broadcast which was deprecated and not recommended long before (besides having security risk) in their Android app? The thing is being competent as security researcher or as scientist does not guarantee that as programmer. And it's too long for them to open source their mobile apps - as of Sept., 2019, years after their commitment, they're still closed source.

@imdb - Yeah, but that won't save you if an adversary forces them to share your identity.

I use it with the expectation of relatively better privacy than corporate e-mail services like Yahoo!, but I remain mindful of its limitations.

It's my primary email now, beats Gmail and Yahoo! By far, although some of the basics are lacking such as search and email delivery is sometimes slow.

Buts it's nice to have a company focusing on privacy full time.

The freebie was nice, now if they could just fix the bugs.

Thanks for that post. That's an interesting, thorough, review. This is an interesting bit, comparing ProtonMail to Tutanota:

Of course, I assume the benefit of encrypted subject lines is only of use if you are communicating with other Tutanota users. I can count the number of people I've convinced to use encrypted email services with me on one finger. I also really don't like Tutanota's web user interface, compared to Protonmail. But still, it's nice to know they're are doing a good job on the encryption side of things.

I'm not using Proton Mail but I did switch to Tutanota from an old Hotmail account. It has the features I want, mainly no Skype/Messenger integration & no Ads.
