I would like to hold some talks with my friend in a private way, thus maybe a secure IM is the solution. Anybody has some kinda long-term experience on this tools? I would use a web-based IM rather than Pidgin or other clients to be installed. No need of mobile app. I gave a try to Privytalks, but I am not able to send any message. I think my settings prevent some plug-in to run. About Cryptocat I've read some really bad things (in the past, though). I am already aware of this list: http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/probably-best-free-security-list-world.htm?page=0,13 at the end I would like to learn from your daily experience, if any.
Hi dogbite, You can read more up-to-date information about Cryptocat in the thread The Ultra-Simple App That Lets Anyone Encrypt Anything linked article in privacy technology. It has come a long way since the bad reports you have read. -- Tom
I'm ressurecting this thread! There's a new app called SubRosa (link here). The founder/coder also had a little thread going in reddit/r/privacy.
