I think it's a beta of a new product from Sunbelt - but if I can't get access to it (or any useful information from the original poster) then there's not much I can do to resolve a compatibility issue on my side (if in fact, it is an OA problem and not a CS problem).

Of course, once it's released I'll look at it if theres a compatibility issue :)

    Hi,

Eveything mainly going great ! Just got the latest DL and defs etc and rebooted.

It won't eliminate the (Deleted) items in Programs though, as they are still listed, but in RED ?

A good question - I've added an entry to the FAQ as I am sure I will be asked again :)

    http://www.tallemu.com/index.php?area=support&sub=faq

In any case - the answer is here - it's by design.

When you use Online Armor's delete function, it deletes the files that the program has created. It also sets its status to "Blocked". The idea is that if you allow a program to run, and it turns out to be malicious you can roll-back the changes, and then it stays in the list as "blocked". In this way, if the program ever comes back onto your computer, Online Armor will block it with no further popups.

A few people have raised this, so it's something we will be looking at in future versions.

SunThreatEngine is the new main engine for CounterSpy 1.5 Beta. And believe me, the beta is experiencing a lot of problems on many systems at the present time. I'm sure they will get worked out as the beta process continues. I truthfully do not recommend the weak at heart or computer experience start beta testing CounterSpy 1.5....at least not just yet.

With what I am seeing with Online Armor, I am not sure Counterspy and it's equivalents are still as important as they once were. I stopped real time monitoring a while back, and in fact just uninstalled Counter Spy

In regards to WFSuser's question above, I just wanted to mention that I've been hearing this from others as well. The fact that Sunbelt was targeting the full release for a "mid-July", and then "early August", and now it's past mid-August....and yet it still hasn't been released doesn't bode well for what's happening with the 1.5 beta.

In regards to the "specific" conflicts, I don't know because I'm not trialing it...just passing along that I have heard from several people that there are conflicts, and the fact that it is a month past the originally planned date of release would seem to indicate that this is true.....

No offense but just because the screenshot shows counterspy beta and OA on the same window does not mean there's a compatibility issue. The issue is when I clicked a Torrent to download and many connections wanted permission all at once. OA could not handle all the requests.

BTW, I'm not having any issues whatsoever with counterspy.

OK I managed to get a screenshot just before OA jumped to 99% cpu. OA seems to not remember the bts589.exe that requires permission. bts589.exe will repeatedly ask for permission causing OA to become stuck. OA does not allow "end task" through taskmanager therefore a hard reboot is necessary. I have just downloaded another client to rule in or out the particular BT client. Let you know in a few. http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/7776/oa3fa.jpg

Did you "Allow" Bts589 in the Programs list of OA? On the Main page of OA's window or in the Safety Check Wizard.

You mean it won't remember the popup you allow? That's not good.

actually btsxxx.exe is not even listed.

..and if I click the torrent to start it and perhaps get it listed, then my desktop will freeze.

Well that's true. But in the absence of any other useful information, I had to guess at what the problem was.

Now that you've mentioned it, one other user did mention a torrent problem - so I'll get someone to take a closer look into it today.

Contact Mike, maybe he can help you out.

What OS are you running and what other apps do you have installed? You seem to be having a lot of conflicts, not good. :doubt:

Strange. I guess all I can say is keep Mike posted with your findings. It can only make OA become an even greater product. ;)

Yup, Mike has been great at getting fixes out as soon as they can identify the problem. Running the logging version and sending in the logs usually does it :)

    @Notok - :)

@zzz - If you'd like to have another crack at OA and send me some logs to help solve your problem, I'm happy to give you another key. And if your help solves the problem you are having with that bittorrent client then I'll send you a perm. key.
