Agree completely, Edwin. OA looks to be an oustanding product, just with a couple of incompatibility issues that have been brought to Mike's attention and which should be corrected here shortly. When I mentioned the problem with the TrojanHunter scanner (another somewhat "expensive" product - like Tiny - that I would hate to "put on the shelf"), he told me that TrojanHunter and Tiny Firewall were two of the top current issues that the technical staff would be addressing within the next week or so.....

:) Compatibility issues are most important, because we assume if there is a compatibility issue with 1 program then it can potentially cause other unforseen effects. So we won't wait until 1.2 before fixing it, it will be put on auto update as soon as we can confirm it is fixed.

Of course, with the exception of the Trojanhunter and Tiny Firewall issues, most problems affect only a very, very small minority of users and are caused by running lots of different software which tries to do a similar thing. Rest assured, we take tracking down and nailing these things *very* seriously.

On the Tiny Firewall issue, from looking at the website it may be possible to make some config changes within it which will allow OA to run - but need to investigate this further.

    Edwin,

The way Mike and his team are working I am sure you will not have to wait very long at all. ;)

I'm still seeing Avatar's not loading properly, a refresh fixes the issue. This is not seen on machines that do not have OA installed, all with the same software setups.

    Cheers :D

Do you have wilders or any other sites in your protected sites list?

I think this is a NOD32 thing.. It does it to me anyway, but I've noticed that it's worse when there's anything else filtering http traffic as well. I've had to go back to setting firefox to compatiblity mode :(

No, but will see if that fixes it when I get home tonight.

Agreed, with Nod32 running by itself (OA not installed), all is good, add in OA and I see the screenshot probably 30% of the time.

    Cheers :D

    Mike,

Something I have noticed with OA and Firefox.

If you log into Gmail (with OA enabled) check your mail etc, but then go to hit the "Sign Out" link, it does not sign out of Gmail. It seems to be caught in a loop and it's as if it refreshes the page vs logging out.

If OA is turned off, this does not happen. I also added gmail to the protected sites list, and still no dice.

Just thought you might like to know.

    Jag

P.S. Can any other FF users with Gmail check this out?

I can confirm this - I fixed it on my system by setting the status of google.com and mail.google.com as trusted sites.

This does not have to be OA related. And it probably isn’t. I’ve had the very same problem just two days ago. The user avatars would not show, instead of it would display text. Same as in your screenshot. I do not use OA. It’s my guess it’s vB related. If I encounter such behaviour again, I can take a screenshot. However, I am certain it’s either Firefox or vB related rather than OA.

    Regards,

    r.

Thanks for that. Guess I should have added google.com as well. :p :D

All systems go here for me to now.

One thing to check with firefox are the http pipelining settings, that is one easy way to get images not being displayed properly (or the wrong images being displayed)

To check what you have, open a new tab (or window) and browse to about:config
Then in the filter line put in pipe and you should see 4 entries
Some sites do not handle pipelining very well, and often the results are worse if you enable pipelining on the first request

The good thing about this is that it is easy to test, try setting network.http.pipelining to false and see if your problems go away
If you are using a proxy then also set network.http.proxy.pipelining to false as well

If this product continues on the track that it is on now it will be a company to be reckoned with. The BEST thing about this company is that it is a company that has superior customer service. This is a company that not only listens to it's customers but actually uses many of the suggestions.

This may be a piece of software that I can put in my fathers computer and after a little set-up by me and a little schooling for my father I can leave for 4 months and know that my fathers computer is fairly well protected.

Interesting, thanks for that. I'm using Moox' Firefox, so I know it's on.

Edit: That seems to have done the trick for me.. Blackspear?

    Online Armor is now available

    Hi Everyone,

I'm pleased to let you know that Online Armor's new website is up and running, and Online Armor v1.1 is now available.

If you haven't yet tried Online Armor - you can still get evaluation keys from me. There are a couple of known issues that will be fixed next week.

The main issue is compatibility with Trojan Hunter (which has a workaround detailed on the new site) and Tiny Firewall (which does not).

If you're running TH and are in any way concerned that we *might not* keep the promise to fix OA, I'll be happy to extend evaluation licences if needed until we get it done.

I'd like to say a big thank you to the participants in this thread, and those who have helped us out with the beta testing - especially those who doggedly kept installing beta versions and sending me logs with strange problems, but not forgetting those that have just tried it and provided feedback.

We do take on board all feedback - both good and bad - so now we'll work on these compatibility issues and get cracking on version 1.2. We have a lot of work to do implementing the various new features that we wanted in 1.2, and the ideas presented to us during the test program.

I'll shut up now and go have a weekend - but no doubt I'll stick my head up in here, and I am always around if people have any problems.

    Thanks once again.

Re: Online Armor is now available

Well, over the next week we'll be shutting down the 1.1 beta test server and rebuilding the replica of the current site so we can use that for isolated testing of new versions (including 1.2). We'll also be fixing compatibility issues one-on-one with people affected by them - and any cosmetic issues. So, that's probably next week gone.

At the same time, I'll be writing up the plan for what goes in 1.2 and development will start once the compatibility issues have been nailed. So, development will start about a week from now, and at a guess, 1.2 beta testing will start in about 6-8 weeks, depending on how much we put in there and how keen you are to try it out. I'm happy for people who want to see the latest and greatest work in progress to get sneak-peeks along the way, but I want to wait until it's fairly stable before letting everyone download and play with the beta.

1.1.0.136 is the release version - from hereon in, the "live" version will autoupdate out (after testing) so people who just want to relax and not constantly test can leave that alone.

I'll be getting organised the new test versions which will work on completely separate systems by the end of next week.
