As posted elsewhere, I did find a copy searching the web.

Would it be inappropriate to post the link? I'm guessing, since they're not provided openly anywhere here, there might be issues - so I'll ask 1st ;)

    Hi visitor :)

PhantOm is the only one who can decide if his rulesets can be linked from here. I would say the best thing to do is IM him and ask his permission to do so.

    Thanks.

    Hey Snowbound

Any of my Look ‘n’ Stop materials can be linked, I don’t mind as long as everything are the most recent. For Instance Phant0m``s Rule-set v5x

Where can get the latest PhantOm ruleset for LnS. Every link seems to be dead?

Here's a handy rule you might want to try,
put it fairly close to the top of your ruleset,
set the Ethernet type to IP, Protocol type to TCP, and set it for Internet - PC

Then over by where it says "TCP Flags" click on "More"
under the column Labeled "Mask" checkmark the Ack and Syn Flags
under the column labeled "Set/Cleared" checkmark the Syn flags

This blocks unsolicited packets, the packets you didn't ask for (will interfere with p2p networks if you don't have a rule higher up, which is attatched to the p2p application)

K, well we found these @ http://kamui.kenshiro.free.fr/Phant0m.zip <- they're dated 03.09.09, which from what we've read is version 5. Someone may want to check the actual version #, because I can't find a way to verify the version from any info on the RLS file...

I'm sort of a newbie with this firewall (but not totally security newbie ;)) - and I'm just wondering about the Phant0m ruleset - is it more secure, is it for both people using routers and not... what's the spefications?

    Hey Phant0m,

How about an explanation of why your ruleset is better than the Enhanced Ruleset that comes with LnS. If you've got the time, an explanation of what your ruleset protects you from, that the Enhanced ruleSet doesn't.

I personally use Phant0m's rule set myself, although I've gone on word-of-mouth without really understanding why it's better.

So I'd like an explanation too, if possible.....
