Any reason to use ESET for malware protection?

Looking at the full spectrum test results and ranking ESET from there

Have you checked how ESET performed during the last 3 years for the various lab tests? Does it stays consistently in the top 3? I know Kaspersky and BItDefender always stay in the top 3.

Well lets get one thing right! Most users or people wouldn't even come across any of these malware so IMO it's for the happy clickers so I don't care about any testing as most of it is FUD these days, if your happy with your protection so be it...but this thread is about ESET and not what your using.

ESET is a great product. Long time user here. Have never been infected in all my years or using it. No product is perfect.

I love ESET as well and used it since v2 and my favorite was v2.7 and used it with the old Prevx, now that was a combo that worked well with each other. ;)

Sorry. Your original post stated " .... Referring to the link here ", That's why I thought you were referring to the MRG test.
As I stated earlier, Eset has kept me safe for a long time , so I see no reason to switch to another AV. Everyone should use security solution(s) they feel comfortable with.

I did a scan of my system with your Online Scanner, with PUP detection disabled. There were a number of installers for PUPs detected, which is no big deal, as I don't need to keep these. Other than that, the main things detected were Android exploits for rooting Android phones, which are included with a few Android management and data recovery tools I have installed. I don't want to delete these, and I prefer not to add manual exclusions.

I'm referring to the full spectrum test results in the MRG test link and from other labs as well

To add something that's more to the point of the original question than my post at #25, this last week I bought another year of ESET NOD32 to protect my girlfriend's computer. We've both used NOD32 on one computer or another for maybe the last 12 years with no problems. So yes, I think it's worth using.

I have ESET products on all 5 of my computers and have had them for years.
I seriously doubt that I will ever change.:)

o_O How do you infer that from what I posted?

Eset default settings are adequate and proper for the majority of users. I "tweak" them for max. protection instead of using the multitude of third party supplemental solutions a number of Wilder's folks use. Eset default settings provide the best protection with minimum user interaction which is suitable for the average home user. I on the other hand, have no problem with handling alerts resulting from my "tweaks."
