    I just realized that my Nero 6 is not compatible with Windows Vista. ):

    Looking for any recommendations for a good [free preferred] program to burn things with on my Vista machine.

    burnaware didnt want to burn a lot of my img files though.. so im not currently using it although it was a great program. i need something like nero burning rom but without everything else.. only thing is if i use nero lite for some reason it throws the disc at once function of my burner out the door and i am stuck with track at once.. i can use it..

    ill keep up on this thread hope there is somehting ive missed.

    You could use ImgBurn for images and then BurnAware for everything else.

    Would recommend InfraRecorder also-does it all,nice and light-fast to load and operate with a drag and drop layout similar to earlier Nero's.

    http://infrarecorder.sourceforge.net/?page_id=5

    Together with Ashampoo as ACR1965 mentioned, you can alternate between both -they each have their strengths.

    Thanks for the replies!

    I'm going to take a look into Ashampoo and InfraRecorder. Still trying to get used to the whole Vista thing. Never thought switching over from an old Linux box would be so confusing... or frustrating for that matter.

    Would download both as mentioned;

    For straightforward burning=InfraRecorder

    For anything else=Ashampoo possibly-the interface is slow and cumbersome,but once its on track-very simple.

    Can imagine re Linux-just burned Gebuntu ISO with Infra in record time and ran-the feel is so different.
