Yeah, the GUI is smart but I don't see any decent tests of this product. Anybody knows them?

I tested it with quite a lot zeroday malware on Real system XP SP3 32 Bits Eng.

The GUI in the right hand corner below shows Anvisoft Smart Defender RC2 but on the top shows Anvisoft Smart Defender.

It was very poor in detection, both RealTime & Cloud, I was shocked to see Cloud giving safe verdict for quite a lot malware, cross checked by VT & Valkyrie.

I didn't liked it at all.

    Thank you for the info.
I have just installed it - I really love the GUI.
I have Comodo Time Machine so I am reverting back soon to the snapshot without the Anvisoft.

O geeze, I spoke to soon.I am having way to many false positives.First quick scan was a detection of 4 trojan, then I think it updated and 16 more various types of malware, trojans etc.No way, absolutley not, my sytem has been fresh formated and clean as it comes.

Now I am Not going to report FPs because there is to many to deal with not happening.I went to uninstall and said I dont have appropiate permission WTF I am the admin.I Had to uninstall in safe mode.:thumbd:

    Thanx for the info.
I installed it alongside with Comodo Internet Security so I am not afraid of its weakness.

If u want to help them i started a threat there:

I really like the light engine they have for realtime protection.
My opinion is to give them some time.

Imagine that, for someone that did not know better that they may just go bork the system. The good news is it dont auto decide and start deleting things.

Sad. It finds malware on clean systems and doesn't find actual malware presented to it. At least it will look really cool while it fails :p

    Thanks boombastik
but i pass on giving anvisoft any help,
especially since the Rc let me get infected

To me the whole smart defender thing is

It seams to be a bunch of amateur's playing with a anti malware program:thumbd: :thumbd:

I no professional I just a Pc user who is on a fast learning, curve ,
What I don't understand is how can smart defender offer any real protection to any user if it cant tell the difference between printer software and windows system files and malware>

I know that all programs have to start some where and they don't all start perfect or error free, but that dose not look like the case with smart defender it seams to plod along with the same issues recurring over and over again ,

so is it just amateur bad programing is it that they just don't know what they are doing ?

Hmm, no doubt it's GUI is something to behold indeed. Now if they could iron out the multitude of falsies and such, and see where it goes from there. Many of us are always up for something new, lite, but most of all useful enough for everyday use.

    Regards EASTER

It has two thing's going for it

    1. It's GUI is very nice
    2. It is super light (Probably the lightest I have ever seen in a security application)

    The bad thing

Too many false positives, it has a long way to go.

Has anyone checked to see if it still finds FPs on fresh installs? Considering how light it is, and that fact it is compatible with other AVs, I don't think it should be trashed, especially since it's so new.

I wish MBAM looked like that.sorry couldn't resist.

I may give it ago again but not now, until the false positives come down a bit.I like to help and did plenty of beta testing with numerous programs, but just dont have the energy to report 20 or more false positives.
