Wow, download size is just 9 mb. The gui is nice and clean. Will it remain free after beta? It's a new company right?

Going out for a week tomorrow morning. So won't be able to test it out. Hope to know many experiences once I return..:)

    But Usual questions:
    1. What engine is it using?
    2. will it remain free after beta?
    3. resource usage.
    4. compatibility with other products.
    5. Update frequency if anything other than cloud.
    6. detection against new and not so new malwares.

Btw: Somehow it looks like Iobit Malware Fighter! Mainly the latest cloud statistics looks alike.!! And also the guard section

May be re-branded Iobit after they loose user base!

Some of the english at the site and within the program tends to make me think it is of Asian origin.Iobit has games booster product and anvi has upcoming gamefire product. They seem similar in description too??.

Looking at the websites of the two companies, I see some similarities.

"Products", "Downloads", "Support", "Company" in the same order. IoBit has a "Buy" mixed in there, but Anvi is still beta, so it makes sense they do not have that yet.

Is this designed to run along side your current security software? Has anyone seen any detection alerts?

Update: Detection name in Softpedia Screenshot matches an IOBit malware name.

GUI is like a mix of Malware Fighter + Bitdefender to me. I don't mind if it turns out to be a rebranded MF as long ASD is 10x better! :D

    Yep. :)

Looking at their website, they're after affiliates to push sales,so there'll definitely be a paid version.Perhaps they'll keep a free offering though :doubt:

i just installed this and tried it out. While it seems really light and scans fast I had a few problems. During a complete scan I kept getting errors that there was no Windows disk. I uninstalled it and may try it out later once it has matured more.

did an actual test with malware, not good.

tested with 2 fresh malware samples, it detected the malware trying to write to auto-start locations which i blocked but it still ended up hosing the system with no further notification by Anvi. this program is useless, your mileage may vary

Sorry, but I don't understand why you label a product (an early beta at that) as "useless" because it failed to detect two fresh zero-day samples.

Me too, I've read many comments judging a beta product useless. Anvi Smart Defender Beta, is the FIRST beta version right? Geez.

detection is very low when scanned with 150+ malwares..
dropped some undetected files into cloud scan ,, detected those as suspicious..
executed some files in sandbox.. no detection...

Dont most Antimalware / Antivirus not read or see whats in sandbox for detection.I am pretty sure WSA dont unless its recovered outside the box.Perhaps I am mistaken and wouldn't be the first time.

I dont now what went wrong and may or may not be related to ASD,but my mouse pad of my netbook locked me out today.I had thought I may have locked it with the key by accident, but there was no respone from many other keys. I had to do a hard power down and restore a previous image just before the install of smart defender and all is well again.

Very starnge because I just had shut down normally prior to the incident and the mouse pad was locked on boot up along with no volume keys, screen brightness.I dont believe it to be hardware related,I hope not anyways.
