    Have been using AVG for years.

    Perhaps AVG is not as sophisticated/effective as NOD 32, but if ever my PC gets infected, I can Restore my HDD in 14 minutes using a full image Acronis backup file located in a USB HDD (did a restore last week for another reason).

    Acronis is my ultimate back stop as well. I also use DeepFreeze 6 which allows me to reboot to a clean OS in less than 2 minutes. With all the protection offered by hardware Firewalls, imaging and frozen drives I'm surprised that so few voted for none. Old habits die hard I guess ?

    Still no scanner, but I recently trialed KAV to verify if my frozen snapshot was infected or not after so many months without any scanner. KAV didn't find anything.
    Of course that doesn't mean anything, it only proves that KAV's signatures/heuristics couldn't find anything, while the remaining infections are still there on my harddisk. :)

    I installed NOD32 on one PC 3 years back. I found the product to work very well and was impressed by ESETS approach to the on going "PC Badies". I now have NOD32 on 6 PC's. Great product ESET.

    Likewise: Even though i was sold on Kaspersky and in a way still am, NOD32 gets the duty calls on my machines now. It's really come of age and i would have been toast without it recently when some wicked file infector virus named Parite proceeded to to re-write my entire system .exe's, and even after cleaning, i still had to overwrite afresh a whole lotta program files and such.

    I fear very little being a long time experienced malware hunter, but everyone harbors at least some deep hidden apprehensions, and mine are a vicious file infector/deleter AND a virus that can manipulate the Hard Drive by creating BAD SECTORS to where even the BIOS cannot reach it.

    In that case the final resort left is HDD Regenerator:

    None at this moment. Reason : AV-message is always the same "No threats found", which irritates me considering the time it took to tell me this.
