    (1) Yes, it can, I have mine set that way for some years now. works to protect all PC's on the LAN.

    (2) Yes, it makes sense.

    I learned these things by contacting both Linksys and AlphaShield technical support. Both were very helpful.

    Just a reminder, make sure your Linksys router user id and psw word are reset from the default. This helps protect your router from tampering.

    Unfortunately I need UPnP

    Well, I will change my router IP to something unusual... ;)
    Then any PoC/script need to guess my router IP and let's the fun start...
