    For shame, I got myself infected. Could someone knowledgeable please interpet the following and tell me if I need to fix anything. Many thanks

    Looks like you found a new variant.

    Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:


    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [httpd] C:\WINDOWS\daemon.exe /i aoluk

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SpyKiller] C:\Program Files\SpyKiller\spykiller.exe /startup

    Then reboot and move:
    C:\WINDOWS\daemon.exe
    to another location. Preferably zip it up and send a copy to the address in my profile.

    Pieter,

    Many thanks. I'm sorry I cannot send you a copy of the .exe. In my zeal to rid myself of this problem I had a zero tolerance approach and as a result I deleted it yesterday. If it comes back I'll be sure to send you a copy
