    Ads are the curse of the digital age in every respect and just as distracting as malware.

    That never showed up on the Nvidia Shield. There was a row that showed up on the Shield 'app spotlight' that was simple change in settings to shut it off. Any time there you add a new channel source it shows up as a row on a shield.

    The Sony issue, which there were at least two workarounds for was a completely separate issue - not that I'd ever expect ARS to get correct.
