    Hello,

I tried googling but i cannot find a site like windows woody windows updates site with a discussion on the latest security update to android OS.

I just want to see if i should be wary of updating to the latest patch level if it causes problems to some programs or slows the phone down.

    Any suggestions?
Or should we start one here on this forum?

    Martin

Problem is that AOSP is patched by device vendor, because they must place drivers inside OS. Also other parts of Android OS are usually heavily patched and it changes GUI, adds or modifies features. I believe it is more device-specific topic than it would be in Windows PC ecosystem.
Maybe, just maybe, restricting thread to devices participating in Android One program would make this kind of general thread possible.

Yes i understand that to be correct people are at the mercy of the manufacturer and/or the network provider.
As long as the device model is mentioned then at least there is something.

I hate patching as it seems like taking a leap into the dark on phones.
