I'm sure mileage vary alot for different phone/usage but I've been running Dr Web on my HTC Desire Z, Android 2.3, for 2 days and there is no change to the battery depletion. I end up at night at 40% like usual.

Full scan speed is horrendous though, 45 mins to scan the phone, is it the same with other security software?

You're right about battery usage for different smartphones.

Regarding full scan is also related to the number of apps you have installed, the number of files on your phone etc.

Check out some of the posts in this thread, Dr Web scans in less than a minute on high-end phones and most of the other mobile AVs I have tried scan as fast as this.

We're preparing a second test with 158 Android malwares. This one will definetely be more relevant.

    Stay tuned!
