    Debian Jessie. Hopefully I am not jumping into the Jessie ship too early. It's a Beta 1 release and will be final 1 year from now.
    It's a nice refreshment from Wheeze.
    Reinstalling the entire system wasn't too bad. I was afraid that I forgot how to do Linux since my last installation 9 months ago but everything came back almost like riding a bicycle again.

    Congratulations! Jessie is more stable than Testing.

    You shouldn't have to re-install the whole system. All you need to do:

    1. Change "wheezy" to "jessie" in /etc/apt/sources.list. Then save and close the file.
    2. sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
    3. sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade (some times necessary)
    4. sudo apt-get autoremove
    5. deborphan then sudo apt-get remove <file to be removed>

    I did that but Wheeze took a lot of beating from me so I wanted to start fresh again.

    It can't be a final choice. There's always room for more choice!

    Sure there is more room for choice but for me not so much.
    Debian:
    - fast
    - very few bugs
    - native xfce unlike xubuntu which is modified
    - low ram requirement so i can have more for vbox
    - huge amount of applications to choose from unlike centos
    - very popular so lots of support

    Centos/OpenSUSE are probably my close 2nd. Centos has fewer packages, has been a little buggy with their new release and for OpenSUSE I don't really like KDE.
    Linux Mint is out of question because I don't like the UI and it is super hard to customize what I want to customize. And Ubuntu is Ubuntu.

    My final choice these days is Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon x64... but as Mrkvonic says, "final" is probably just an illusion.... :)

    I've been meaning to move over to mint for the peace of mind of the distros future heading direction. Though I do use a few on different machines, Debian for server,elementary os for netbook and currently Ubuntu on the desktop.

    They are all the same really :)
