The thing is, in order to make a computer really faster, adding more RAM is not enough. I think computers are way too slow currently, I really get annoyed with slow loading apps, or freezing of the system because the CPU is busy, even if it´s only for 2 seconds. So the CPU (quadcore)and especially the HDD (Flash based) need to become a lot quicker to make a computer run smoother.

But of course 2GB RAM will always help, especially when you´re multitasking. Of course it also helps if apps are light on system resources. I mean currently I have 1GB of RAM but I can´t run a virtual OS (VMware) and Firefox at the same time.

 

Heck, I did lots of useful programming on an IBM 1620 with only 10000 bytes of storage, and an IBM 360 with only 65536 bytes.
