Analysis: How Much System Memory Is Really Enough?

    The thing is, in order to make a computer really faster, adding more RAM is not enough. I think computers are way too slow currently, I really get annoyed with slow loading apps, or freezing of the system because the CPU is busy, even if it´s only for 2 seconds. So the CPU (quadcore)and especially the HDD (Flash based) need to become a lot quicker to make a computer run smoother.

    But of course 2GB RAM will always help, especially when you´re multitasking. Of course it also helps if apps are light on system resources. I mean currently I have 1GB of RAM but I can´t run a virtual OS (VMware) and Firefox at the same time. :thumbd:

    Heck, I did lots of useful programming on an IBM 1620 with only 10000 bytes of storage, and an IBM 360 with only 65536 bytes.

    Forces one to learn how to write proper programs.
