    The gaming performance always surprises me, I expected Windows to wipe the floor of Ubuntu but looks like thats not the case.

    The irony of these so called tests is that they all start with fresh formatted machines, use the OS for six months, install and uninstall various programs, go through the update process and then see the results, the boot times, shut down times would be quite a different story then.

    Off the topic- I noticed that VM Player (with XP Guest) runs significantly faster under Win 7 compared to Ubuntu 11.10.

    I was attempting to play Quake 2 Demo under VM Player- and was not entirely successful!
