Is this possible? I know in higher efficiency mode imon scans all files when browsing including image files like gif and jpeg etc. It would be even better if there was some way imon could check if they were real images or not.

If it was a real jpeg for an example, the file wouldn't be scanned and that would add some browsing speed.

I don't know if this would be possible at all, but I think I've read somewhere that there are ways to find out what filetype a file is even if it has a wrong extension or doesn't have an extension at all.

Sorry for my bad english, I hope it's readable.

Since IMON is set to scan all files by default, you can exclude JPG and GIF files from scanning in IMON setup. (however, you might still see them being scanned even though they only pass the scanner and are not actually scanned)
