When I first bought my notebook, I partitioned its one HDD into C: (OS & Program Files), D: (Paging File), and E: (My Docs-Data-Image Files) - solely for the purpose of optimizing backup operations. I soon realized that an Acronis True Image (ATI) image of just my C: partition would not suffice for disaster recovery purposes as it would not 'capture' the MBR. Acronis informed me that in order for an ATI image to capture the MBR, it was necessary to image the entire physical drive.

I would appreciate it if an Image For Windows user tell me if that functionality (or lack thereof) is the same for IFW?

    Thanks, pv
