It won't affect your system, but may affect browsing speed.

Scroll down, that's just the easy way.

Keep everything as is, MBAM is exceptional at new malware, or the ones you'll likely come across.

    As others have said:
+Add hitman pro as an on-demand scanner - no system impact at all, scan is complete in a few minutes, you can add an automatic scan every system boot-up.
+Personally, I'd add WOT to your browser, firefox, opera, chrome.

With MBAM pro, you wouldn't need the hosts file additions anymore.

No harm in trying the DNS services. I found a small slowdown in resolving pages from my country and my ISP's DNS to be quicker. Others report no change.

About WOT, for the majority of malware sites, WOT does an exceptional job in searches and blocking users to suspect pages even through say google images (you see the WOT ratings on the search page), and email links. You can read the user comments on WOT's site about a link, even before clicking on the link.

When you install, select basic settings, and don't worry about registering an account, you don't need to. Only if you want to report malware sites etc.

You're more than alright. Definitely good enough, I wouldn't bother adding anything.

    edit: Oh, I'd use UAC.
