I'm looking for something to use instead of HMP.
Could use your advice.
Care to explain why ?
HitmanPro is a very good tool.
But back to the original question:
VirusTotal Uploader 2.0
VT Uploader or JottiQ
there were the awesome bugpopper but it died due the lack of support
we need to wait and see what will the developers bring to us
and btw if you are saying you need something that more in Heuristic scanning than normal
signature scanning :
you have :
MBAM a very good one
The cleaner decent detection Lots of FP and bugs
Trojan remover decent detection Trail not free
Spybot S&D the new beta has some potential " lots of bugs and very slow scanning " a complicated GUI in my POV
Superantispyware Good detection but mostly dependent on Signature Low bugs and Low False positive
F-Secure Easy Clean
Norton PowerEraser && (killswitch || Emsisoft Emergency kit)
There are alternatives to HMP, but not any comparable, in my opinion. I'm still amazed at how quick the scan is and still excellent at detecting and removing malware. It even has the Force Breach Mode, that quite a few users are not aware of. I think if you want something any better, as far as detecting and cleaning, you would need to go with a Rescue Disk like Kaspersky or Dr Web Live CD.
Zemana Anti-Malwre and VikingPCHealth
both apps are rebranded versions of HitmanPro.
I can say that there are no any comparable, in my opinion.HitmanPro simply rocks
Vipre Rescue + MBAM: http://vipre.malwarebytes.org/
Closest alternative I can think of.
As far as I know, there is no alternative. If you want to use something else because HMP gives you crashes, try switching from "direct" to "compatible" disk access on the advanced options panel.
How long has VIPRE Rescue been around?
I've been using VIPRE for almost 1½ years and this is the first I've heard of it.
Edit in: Geez, I now see it mentioned on a customer feedback site back in November of 2009
Where have you been? On a side note, it still seems not to have an option to scan without removing whatever infection it may find.
Tell me about it!
