I have to say Active Backup is to me a vital application if you work with important data. Also aids in the Ransomware issue

    Looks interesting.
Is there a way to exclude compression based on filetype?

You can go to Tools then click on the gear and under Compression you can add extensions there to exclude or use the down arrow under Tools>Global Options>Compression. Not sure if you can actually name a certain file or not(such as: example.xlsx) as I haven't tried it.

When you say "exclude compression" are you referring to the compression inside the archive or something else?

As previously mentioned you just go to Tools->Compression and enter exclude patterns like *.zip. The only point in doing this is that you don't want to waste system resources compressing something that is already compressed like a .zip file.

The compression is only applied to the single whole copy of the file that the archive holds. All other revisions of the file that are stored in the archive are only stored as changes against the whole file.
