    i've been wanting to ask this question for awhile now - whats the take? and don't try and draw me into some a vs b nonsense:D

    In a long run they both are very good. Pick up the one that fits most to your taste.

    I have been an Outpost user for a few years now. The biggest problem was conflicts with Kaspersky AV. That seems to be pretty much resolved with the latest versions of both. I have both the hosts protection and web control enabled at the optimal settings. I don't use the IP blocklist as I use a separate Hosts file (MVPS & hpHosts). You can tighten the security on the Hips features of Outpost if you wish (from optimal to maximum) or use custom controls.
