o_O Major problems after pop-up killer warning o_O
I really need to get a doctor on this one, Pop-up killer warning immediately followed the Ie6 wanting to download autoreport to microsoft. Ie6 closed to unveil several adds that were hiding behind my windows.
?? Spybot won't start anymore, why not ??
?? spywareblaster was checked earlier today ??
?? Here is the Hijackthis log I think if I paste it properly?

o_OBy the way adware ran into (4) fatal exceptions while it was running, but I'm pretty sure that smartpop-upkiller had something to do with this. I'm real careful in whatgets loaded and do hard boot after each new install. The last thing that went on the computer was smartpop-upkiller.

    Hi Valkyri001,

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [updater] C:\Program Files\Common files\updater\wupdater.exe

    O16 - DPF: {00000EF1-0786-4633-87C6-1AA7A44296DA} - http://www.netpaloffers.net/NetpalOffers/DMO1/s1udc0m.cab

    Then reboot and delete:
    C:\Program Files\Common files\updater\wupdater.exe

    Regards,

    Pieter

If that is all that's left, you can delete the entire folder if you like. :)

Please, yes. Try AdAware or Spybot.

    Regards,

    Pieter

AdAware not finding much is not surprising since we cleaned out all the "heavy stuff" ;)

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Spybot S&D?
Something may have gotten in the way during the installation.

    Regards,

    Pieter

No I didn't get them the second time.
The first one to report was 06 at 0028:00000017
then od at 283f:01676b97 and then the address of od changed 2 more times sorry i didn't write those down.
    o_Ospybot still won't work o_O
I uninstalled using spys uninstall and then re-installed using the original spybot install file.
Same result, says its there but menu won't stay up, flashes and then disappears.
Oh by the way, ad-aware still found that vboucer crap and nCase junk, I just quarantined, is that ok?

    Quarantaining it was good, yes.

I am in the dark where it concerns Spybot S&D. Maybe it is better to ask at their own forum: http://forums.net-integration.net/index.php?c=7

If you have any more fatal exceptions, write them down and post back.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Hi Valkyri001,

I am not aware of any false positives at this moment, so yes, it is safe to quarantaine evrything. It makes backups when you do that.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    :)Thanks again!!
there is a known problem with spybots backups reporting to Adaware, so i'm talking to them right now trying to find out the proper way to delete spybots backups or viceversa so both programs can run on the same machines.
    I'll be back, I love this stuff!!! :) :) :) :D

    Hi Valkyri001,

The problem only occurs if you forget to reboot between scanning with AdAware and Spybot S&D.

Only necessary if something is found by either one.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Just a tip--

    my computer
    c:\
    documents and settings
    all users
(make sure u have hidden folders turned on)
    application data
    spybot search and destroy
    confrimnation.ini

delete that file, confirmation.ini-- that contains the settings for spybot and once deleted, spybot starts a new. make sure u update all defs.

had a similar problem as well recently. good luck.

:DMy apologies to frozenbrains, i think i can guess where you got that name though, the filename was actually ( CONFIGURATION.ini) I found it and did as you suggested, that did allow spybot to reload and start again. SORRY!!!
:DAs for you Pieter that does seem to do the trick, clean boots between scans.
;)I think i'm back up for now!! :)

Im putting it here so 's to keep a history, sort of. Since it's the same machine. I'm ready to load more of my software. I've got Spybot, spywareblaster, spywaregaurd,ezAV,ran cwshredder, have updated everything, I seem to be OK! Periodically get IE6 bugs, but need to get back to work. I overlooked this log and did not see anything wrong. o_OWould you please verify that for me o_O
