    Advanced KEYLOGGER Key Logger
Key Logger "Advanced KEYLOGGER" found in:
    Key "hkey_local_machine \software\licenses" value "{k7c0db872a3f777c0}"

This log came from Pest Patrol online scan...This is the second time pest patrol has found something as a Keylogger...It was a flaspositive last time...

Is this actually a keylogger this time or pestpatrol really a piece of garbage?

That is a valid entry that is associated with a program named Spywareblaster and is indeed a False positive by Pest Patrol.

You should be aware that PestPatrol has many FP's, It's not a bad programs but I would only recommend it to advanced users. (I know it's difficult to turn down especially when it's offered free for a year)

Spysweeper is rated and used by many is this forum.

It will help us if you give your current anti-malware setup.

IMO I recommend the following for most surfers regarding spyware

    1) Switch from IE to Firefox or Opera browser (both free)
    2) download, update and use

    1. Winpatrol (Scotty) and use in Real time
    2. MSAS beta (I use as on demand, you can use it real time if you want)
    3. SpywareBlaster (and SpywareGuard - your choice)
    4. Ewido Anti-Malware (on demand)
    5. Spybot (on demand)
    6. Ad-Adware Lavasoft (on demand)
    7. Use a HOSTs files (MVPS, Bluetack etc, search forum for more info)

Run all on demand atleast once every fortnight or whenever you suspect you've been infected.

All these programs are free and all most users would need against spyware. I personally don't just recommend these because their free but they have less impact on system resources and are good products.

Thanks for the info, My current setup is:

    Firefox 1.5.01
    Norton Internet Security 2005.

    Spywaregaurd
    Spywareblaster
    Winpatrol

    Ad-Aware SE
    Spybot S&D

I'm gonna check out SpySweeper Free trial, It blocks threats on the trial doesn't it?
I'm gonna subscribe to it once my check goes through in my bank.

Is ewido only Anti-Spyware or is it actually an AV+Anti-Spy suite setup?

    Good to see

I personally think you don't need it, why not instead (assuming that you are running windows 2000 or later) download and use Microsoft Anti-Apyware beta this offers real time protection too (and you don't have to wait for your cheque to clear)

The ewido security suite initially was considered to be a Anti-Trojan (and a very good one) it is now ewido Anti-Malware covering more,

    from their site
ewido is HIGHLY rated and used my many on this forum (just use the search function and see). IMO it's very good and you should definitely have it. There is more info on their site www.ewido.com also the official forum is here and the ewido team will answer your questions.

    hope this helps
