You downloaded and installed the version for Firefox, Opera etc. which is the plugin version. You still have the old Internet explorer/ActiveX version installed ;)

Okay, I found the reason why some people want to trash him. It's in the second paragraph here -http://www.h-online.com/security/news/item/Expert-says-Adobe-omits-mention-of-400-Flash-Player-flaws-1321881.html-.

    Pity.

Ah yes I remember that, didn't think it was the same guy. Irresponsible thing to do. This 2nd paragraph says it all.

Anyway I'm not doubting his skills (I'm still thankful flash has less exploits now than it did last week), he just appears to have a bit of a big mouth.

Guys, anybody else here who has problems installing the latest Flash Player ? On several computers, when I launch the installation process running as admin, it initiates all right, but then hangs and stops while deleting the Flash Player exec I previously downloaded from Adobe...

When I download again and relaunch install, it says that two instances of installation cannot run at the same time, but it never completes. Previous versions installed seamlessly, dunno why it now is such a messy operation.

    Any clue?

    Thanks

Have you tried downloading and running the flash uninstaller first?

Also look in your System AppData Temp Folder when they disappear they end up there then you can run the files from that location!

    Hi,

While I'm not BoerenkoolMetWorst (hey BoerenkoolMetWorst, I hope you don't mind ;) ), those links were already posted in this same thread by The Seeker in reply # 6, and by roddy32 in the Update Alerts Forum:
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=305138

And more general info was posted by Ron (and siljaline) in:
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=305137

The links have been posted in the Update Alerts Forum for quite some time.
(The Update Alerts Forum threads are not open for discussion, so it is good to have threads like this in case more discussion is needed for whatever reason).

The only difference is that BoerenkoolMetWorst gave the https links while the others gave the http links.

And if you can't remember those links, there's always http://flashtester.org, a site I myself forgot the name of recently until someone reminded me.

I always use the uninstaller first and so far have not had any problems installing new versions of Flash.
