If the browser in question is portable & Firefox or Firefox clones, I have noticed that you have to manually import Adguard cert otherwise you get error like privacy issues, etc.............
Anybody tested the EXIM(Export-Import) feature? I thought it would do away with the drawbacks of the manual method but it has its own problem which atm makes manual method to be more efficient than the provided feature. But as long as manual method works, I'm fine.
v6.2.346.1819 Beta and Edge on Windows 10 Pro x64 (Version 1703 - Build 15063.13) worked just fine. Today, installed the MS security updates. Since that time, with Adguard enabled the Edge not works anymore (pages not open). With Adguard disabled = no problems. Adguard beta uninstalled and stable version 6.1.331.1732 installed = no problems. Windows 10 Pro x64 (Version 1703 - Build 15063.138 ).
What's wrong with the export/import, though? It is supposed to be almost the same as the manual method (not completely, though). Hmm, instead of reinstalling AG you could do the following: 1. Close Edge 2. Restart AG 3. Start Edge back The whole issue is caused by the very problematic TCP Fast Open feature, which Edge now tries to use by default. AG disables it, but it is getting enabled back when Edge is started the first time after Windows update. Edit: MS is aware of this bug, but we don't yet have an ETA on the fix.
Upto now, I found 3 problem areas in the EXIM feature. But if it's just me(as I see no one else complained), I can live with it because I know my way around.
Thanks for the clarification and the workaround. It worked, back to v6.2.346.1819 Beta. Windows 10 Pro x64 (Version 1703 - Build 15063.138 ). ---------------- After the workaround, I went to: Microsoft Edge -> about:flags = Enable TCP Fast Open As far as I can see, the Enable TCP Fast Open option is checked (enable).
Some time ago I added a few filters in the Ad Blocker section, but subsequently unticked them in favour of the AG filters. However, recently I have noticed these are ticked again, I think after reboots. I suppose I could just remove these filters, but I wonder why that is happening. AG v6.2.346.1819 Beta, Windows 10 Pro x64 (Version 1703 - Build 15063.138 ) Edit: No reboot is required, the unwanted filters just get reticked after a while.
It's understandable why the adguardsvc.exe is connecting to net but the right question to ask is - why adguard.exe want net connection?
Does Adguard give out free license to Wilders Members.. Adguard has a 35% off sale today for Easter. What exactly does a lifetime license mean. Is it for the person or the machine.
I never got one? Looks like the 35% applies to existing customers as well. You can extend the current lic.
Here is how to get a free lic. looks like a lot of work to me. https://adguard.com/en/get-adguard-for-free.html
Ah, missed the KGB joke opportunity. As I recall, nothing really important there. It checks if net is accessible, it might download the app update when you manually check for updates. Also, in v6.2 it uses net for response preview in the new filtering log. Although, I may have missed something as I didn't check the actual source code.
adguardsvc.exe is the one that checks for and download the program update(whether automatic or manual) not adguard.exe. And its not just v6.2, it(adguard.exe) was prompting for access in earlier versions also.
