I have mentioned in my previous post that there were no Windows Updates. Anyway, I tried again & no probs. You mentioned shelf-life for key (not activated) that you get by installing Adguard on 4 peoples PC is "1 Year", does this means if I dont activate the key & activate it after 11 months, I will get 1 Year?
Is it that easy to disable updates in Win10? I mean could it be that Windows Defender was updated and not Windows itself? Exactly.
Windows Defender is disabled on system as 3rd party AV is enabled. I have Win 10 64 Pro. I have set Windows Updates in Group Policy to "Notify before download". So whenever there are Windows Updates, I get notification Windows Updates are available And they only download if I click "Download" in Windows Updates. Thats good shelf-life for key acquired through installing Adguard on peoples PC. Thank You for the info
avatar, Adguard install on completion gives wizard with the options "Skip" & "Get Started". Skip - gives default settings. Get Started - gives options to customize. I think renaming the options would be better/apt/more clear for the users. Skip should be renamed to Defaults Get Started should be renamed to Customize What you say?
avatar, I am having prob with Adguard Desktop & Chrome 64 Bits. On HTTPS website, frequent log out (certs appear fine i.e those websites show Adguard certs). No probs on Internet Explorer, Firefox Portable & Edge. Win 10 64 Pro Adguard Desktop defaults, EV certs filter disabled & WFP Driver enabled. Chrome 64 Bits (QUIC protocol disabled) Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 (HTTPS filtering disabled) UPDATE - I tried disabling WFP Driver & restarting the system But the same frequent log out prob on Chrome. UPDATE - I excluded Adguard folder And added Adguard.exe, Adguard.Tools.exe, AdguardSvc.exe & certutil.exe as Trusted applications in KIS But the same frequent log out prob on Chrome. UPDATE - Exiting Adguard or disabling HTTPS filtering solves the prob. UPDATE - Reinstalled certs & restarted the system But the same frequent log out prob on Chrome. UPDATE - I have 2 extensions, Internet Download Manager & Kaspersky Protection Extension. Tried disabling both But the same frequent log out prob on Chrome. UPDATE - Tried disabling Kaspersky But the same frequent log out prob on Chrome. UPDATE - Tried enabling QUIC protocol But the same frequent log out prob on Chrome. UPDATE - I tried many options But no success regards frequent log out on HTTPS sites BUT with trial & error, I found that if on HTTPS websites, I check the option "Remember This/Stay Signed In" for username/password then no log out probs.
Do you have "Stealth mode" enabled in Adguard? I mean there's a "self-destructing cookie" option which may cause the logouts.
Default settings/filters here, Only settings I changed are enabled WFP Driver, set Proxy option to "No Proxy" (dont have proxy in the system) & EV certs filtering disabled. I have mentioned in my previous post, checked with WFP Driver option disabled, Proxy option set to default But no success. I dont have log out prob only with 3 options - 1. Exit Adguard 2. Disable HTTPS filtering 3. Check/Select "Remember This/Stay Signed In" option for username/password on the HTTPS websites. UPDATE - avatar, Strange But now no probs with the same setup here. I will see how it goes & update here...
avatar, No probs in these 2-3 days. And I have added Adguard folder in Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 Exclusion And added Adguard.exe, Adguard.Tools.exe, AdguardSvc.exe & certutil.exe as Trusted Applications in KIS. Is it safe to do the above?

avatar, I use Chrome 64 Bits Installed & Firefox Portable. With Firefox Portable, I have noticed that sometimes sites loading goes in a loop i.e either sites take long time to load or small blue circle keep spinning but site doesn't load (may be eventually site will load but I didn't wait for too long). Exiting Adguard, sites load immediately. I haven't noticed any such prob on Chrome. Adguard Desktop default filters/settings here. Could it be due to Firefox in use is portable or......? Thank You
I'm running KIS 2017 and I haven't found it necessary to make ANY exceptions to ensure Adguard runs properly.
Thank You for the info. I just want to know if adding the mentioned Adguard files, etc... to KIS exclusions/trusted apps is safe or not? i.e guess, traffic passes through Adguard, right? So I was thinking adding all those Adguard things in KIS exclusions/trusted apps, KIS will not scan the traffic, etc... & could be a security prob?
Uninstalled Adguard...mentioned probs like log out from sites, sites loading loop, etc... Back to uBlock Origin...no probs. May try next version....
Thanx . I have disabled and enabled the extensions option in desktop adguard and i still dont see any counter in chrome for the number of ads blocked with either setting
if using Adguard For Windows , the browser extension becomes just a button to disable blocking on the page you currently visit. You won't see any numbers of blocking. Adguard doesn't show the numbers like other extensions, it just block everything before the page is loaded.
Yes, you can use a browser extension together with desktop version. In this case the extension will operate as “Adguard Assistant” https://adguard.com/en/adguard-assistant/overview.html https://adguard.com/en/help/usage_assistant.htm
Ok thanx. When you just use the chrome extension it does show the number of blocked ads so i thought using with the desktop version will show it too
There's no counter when you use extension along with the desktop AG. A bit more info on the integration mode: https://adguard.com/en/adguard-adblock-browser-extension/integration-mode.html#integrationMode

avatar, Is Adguard better compatible with Avast compared to Kaspersky & Eset? If I install Adguard with KIS installed, Adguard has "WFP Driver" option disabled by default. If I install Adguard with AIS installed, Adguard has "WFP Driver" option enabled by default. Does this mean Adguard is better/compatible with Avast/AIS? If Yes, I will keep Adguard & Avast. By the way, is fontcacheev1.dat in program data is Adguard Desktop related file?
