    1. Yes, already mentioned= #3171: Edge + AG for Windows = 100%

    2.

    3. There are a lot of articles about it ( AG for Win vs uBo).

Well this is a shock for me testing Edge with only uBlockO extension:

    edge test.png

I re-did the test to make sure. Could it be the quad9 DNS setting in the registry is helping?:

    edge registry.png

If I disable uBlock and rerun the test:

    edge test no uBlock.png

So I guess the dns setting is doing next to nothing.

Hi,except that this is the thread that has AdGuard as its topic ;),why is it a shock?

Are you using Edge without the anti-trackers protection set to Strict.
Everything seems to be regular to me.

Quad9 DNS does not play a significant role against ads and tracking is better AdGuard DNS,Next DNS,ControlD -OISD full.

    It is obvious.
How do you set up a test that has ads + tracking as its purpose if you don't use some let's say not very nice websites?

If you go and look at the "Social Tracker" test group and click on it with your mouse you will notice the website that Avira puts you on.
The other one is in the ADS group - Amazon

I take this opportunity to say hello to the test developer (Eduard Ursu) who is Italian like me.

dont mind, anything above 80% is ok ;)
as i wrote those tests do not meet the reality and you can filter pages to death.

I did try the test with a recent experimental MV3 AdGuard extension and I scored 79%, so I removed it.

It's a shock because don't forget I'm not a guru like you, @nicolaasjan and @Brummelchen on ad and script blocking ;) Also I thought because of MV3, Edge would allow more from the test to get through. Goes to show what little I know about this subject.

True, I sometimes want to give up on adding all the additional filtering and just use the defaults for blocking ads. I was just surprised to see 99% on Edge, even with the indomitable uBlockO fortified with additional filters ;)

I performed a comparison test of V2 and V3 extensions in the latest Opera build and got an interesting result, 89% with V2 and 88% with V3. Opera's inbuilt ad & cookie blocker was enabled in both test. When disabled the score fell out to 79% and 78% respectively.

It means that V3 is almost on par with V2, considering that V3 is still experimental, it's a pretty result, imho.

I don't like the advice to turn off DNS-filtering.

That's why I don't use anti-ad block lists. However, I find that turning off cosmetic filtering on the affected site and refreshing a couple of times often removes the anti-block message.

You're welcome :) I would say that AG is more polished than uB which is really raw for the time being.

If you are using ViolentMonkey or TamperMoney, alternatively you could use this.

No,I would like to do it with the simple rule in the extension:

    Code:
    ||*$ping
Otherwise if the future of almost all chrome based browsers has to be this I'll switch to Brave.

I just meant there are other ways to disable them; such as browser.send_pings = false in Firefox, or using NoScript.

    :argh::argh:

I was able to write a rule for ping and beacon blocking in AdGuard MV3.
But I can't write a rule for blocking csp report.

Is any forum member able to help me?
    TH.
    :thumb:

P.S. Interestingly, if I add more than one custom filter list, the rule stops working.:thumbd:
And that is certainly a bug as well because I tried sequentially 4-3-2-1 lists.
This extension,is really not very usable, under these conditions.

I think I have found the best combination for this version of Adguard MV3.
It is a very simple configuration combined with Next DNS.
Putting an excess of lists in "Custom Filters" has the effect of deleting some rules previously available in "Rule limits."
I will include what I have enabled:

    10.jpg
    11.jpg
    12.jpg

On the 3dward test my score is 99%.

    https://d3ward.github.io/toolz/adblock.html

P.S. I preferred to block "Ping" not with a rule in the extension but via command-line in the browser.;):)
