I did some testing in Edge with the MV3 extension.
    Reference website:

    https://d3ward.github.io/toolz/adblock.html

    I only get a score of 80%:

    1.jpg

Consider that using OISD full at the DNS level gives me a score of 94%:

    2.jpg

But in this case it must be considered that cosmetic filtering does not work.

With the combination of DNS + AdGuard MV3, an acceptable score of 99% is achieved:

Almost certainly with the introduction of MV3 it will be necessary, in various Chrome-based browsers, to consider DNS filtering as well.
This is of course for those who prefer an adblocker function extension.

MV3-based AdGuard is limited in it's capabilities.

@gorhill found that for example it can't remove in-video ads on YouTube...

Adguard syntax is different than µBO's. Check the Adguard site for more info.

Thanks for the warning in advance. This assures me to stay away from all things Chromium for the foreseeable future. :thumbd: I actually don't miss it. :thumb:

Firefox got 90%--NextDNS or Cloudflare--the same score. Got a little work to do to improve things.

Too much work at my age.....:(;):)
And then it would be a useless job because other lists don't work if you enter them for example "EU US most used ads & trackers networks (third-party blocking only)".
    And others.
In my opinion this extension V3 has many bugs.

    Your extensions have excessive behavior.

I'll post my UBO lists for Firefox (99%) as soon as I have a moment.:thumb:
And I really use very few rules compared to the average user.
There is no way you won't score better with Firefox.

Holy crap, that would be a joke. The only solution that I see is that browser's built-in adblockers on for example Vivaldi should be beefed up. Or that Vivaldi, Opera and Brave simply never implement the new MV3 feature, it's still not clear to me if this is possible in Chromium.

I think that will be a huge burden on the developers of these browsers and it would also imply that they have to set up their own extension stores with MV2 extensions (you won't be able to get them from the Chrome Web Store any more)...
And there won't be much extension writers that will develop new, or maintain existing MV2 extensions.

Didn't even think about this, what a mess. The solution is that Vivaldi should hire uBlock's developer. :thumb:

Gorhill doesn't want any money for for his work.
In the end it will mean that you'll have to use Firefox to browse the internet comfortably (I know you don't like it ;)).

    A lot. :)
    223.778 networkfilters + 120.313 cosmetic filters.
    Plus my hosts file.

Browsing is still super fast though.

Firefox + uBo = 100%, and if not, uM will do the job. There exist no better solution, even the built-in crap of vivaldi and opera cant reach this level of protection. and they are buggy a lot. dont know why some people need to advertise this BS over and over again.

I found that ADG MV3 used about 50% more RAM than the V2 build on Chromium and also constantly spiked the CPU use to 35-40%, which is highly noticeable on my old, cheap laptop. Still, I got a score of 99% on the ad block test if I used Blitz DNS with the full OISD list.

you dont need both, uBo is superior. 100 with only uBo (with my settings). as you can see is a matter of lists and/or own filters where uBo has advantage.

Adguard default got 47/100, with Adguard DNS and Adguard+Easylist optimized the result was same. sorry to say. another test with uBo fresh install, nothing else changed - 100/100.

results like this do not represent the reality. it can break websites, maybe adguard less than uBo.
MV3 is pretty new, let them take their time to improve. anyhow any adblocker with larger lists will slow down older machines, and in special laptops.

Yes, FF is no option for me. And like they say, every man has his price, so Vivaldi should make him an offer he can't refuse LOL. But I wonder if this new Adguard will be good enough for most people, let's see.

It will probably be a unique option for chrome-based browsers.
With AG extension MV3 I can't see what filters are in the default settings.
This in my opinion is the biggest bug.
Hopefully it will be corrected as soon as possible.
It's easy if you add custom filters to exceed the number of rules allowed.
If you put in optimized/minimized filters you don't reach the performance of the (unknown) default filters.

    @anon

Do you notice a decrease in browsing speed/responsiveness with the use of AG for Windows?
    TH.
