Would like to know what is running and what is not deletable on your system. Can you please be so kind as first to this thread [thread]15913[/thread] step #2; get the HijackThis and run it without fixing anything, only run to make your log and post that in your next posting so we can have a look for you.
    Thanks!

    It's now rather complicated.
In fact we should need an expert to clean out the HijackThis log first.
When that part is ready, depending on that expert advice, we can have a further look about the mcafee removal.
Are you sure you want it removed or do you want to install it again?
After the HJT log let's get back into this part.
Wondr if all going back to the first system restore point just after installing your windows to the cleanest situation could be an option if it gets too difficult, as removing mcafee can be a real nightmare.

yeah i want mcafee off as i use AVG, but agree i would rather deal with the trojan first....
i too wondered about restoring a ways back but worried about recent downloaded programs.....ie AVG, limewire and the spyware programs for instance....should this be a concern?

incidently, that avg warning about the trojan didn't appear after 8 hrs of the computer sitting idle.... usually that little pop up was there if the puter was unattended for a while..

still like to get this log cleaned, all those games/pogo things are crap......

    Hi phatkid,

I have moved your thread from the TDS forum over into this one where it will receive better attention for removing McAfee anitivirus.

Here is the link for the McAfee Support Forum where it has a list of links for removing the different versions of the virus scan:

    Regards,
