    Thanks for the information.

How much longer do you think that it will be in Beta Testing?

Doesn't work with Enhanced Protected Mode ( 64bit IE on Windows 8 ) unfortunately.

There are currently a few open issues we're working on. If you are seeing any other issues, please report them in the forum.

We have to wait, right now it's just a beta release.

Thanks for this although it is a development build - the folks at ABP deserve much kudos for getting into an IE specific app.

Meanwhile until the bugs are worked out as cited in this thread - I'll use the usual IE TPL's

This is an area where IE needs a serious boost in terms of extensions.
Its great its finally getting an adblocker but it also needs more extensions as this seems to be one of the main attractions of other browsers and its a pity because IE is just as good as firefox or chrome but just needs more extensions.

Maybe this is just a sign of things to come.:)

I doubt it. IE extensions hasn't ever really taken off as an idea, and MS doesn't seem all that interested in supporting them, probably because they don't want any code mucked with. You're also then opening up more holes to abuse with them, and I doubt MS would want to do the whole vetting process for them, as well as preventing 3rd parties from surprising you with them without your permission.

Enhanced Protected Mode is a default of IE 10 which many are currently running under Windows 7.
    I'll pass.

Wrong. EPM is on by default for IE11 not IE10. But I agree with you, I'll wait for the release that has compatibility.

    Right. Same here.

I'm questioning though if there's any added value when compared to using IE's built-in TPL. I know for one that it's easier to white-list a site but other than that? I really haven't looked so just asking out loud in case someone knows...

My bad, EPM gets enabled on all IE installations done by me. Again, pass.

It doesn't play nice with classic shell. It puts the icon in the same place as the Protected Mode status. :doubt:

If it blocks flash-loaded ads and 1st party ads then it will instantly be better. I don't see how it could be as fast as TPLs though, but hopefully not noticeable.

I forgot about those. Yeah, hope so.

Anyway, out of curiosity, I tried ABP on IE (disabled EPM for this) and when I checked the options, in the drop-down list it only had Easylist and some other regional list to accompany. EasyPrivacy wasn't offered. I wonder why when there's a TPL for it.

Is that not just the default lists? Can't you add whatever lists you want anyway?

It doesn't allow you to, at least from what I can see. The interface and options are pretty basic. I can't capture the drop-down list but here you go....

Thanks, that does look pretty basic. Hopefully they expand on it as it isn't of any use to me until EasyPrivacy is also included. Maybe it's covered under the "EasyList" selection?

I don't think so. EasyList and EasyPrivacy are clearly 2 different lists despite the latter being used with the former.

Anyway, uninstalling the add-on because personally, EPM is of more importance. Furthermore, TPL fits my needs for IE. Just testing the add-on out of curiosity. Those running IE8 and lower definitely gets more out of this compared to IE9 and above.
