Jeffrey, what % of the annoyances/trackers does admuncher remove when compared to the likes of Ghostery and Fanboy Annoyances list?

Im unable to purchase anything online at the moment.
Im from the uk and just wondered if this product is available in retail stores over here at all.I know its a strange question but thought i would ask anyway.

How long is the trial period as not able to find it on the website.
    Many thanks.

Well that's a hard question to answer but I'll do my best.

Ad Muncher blocks trackers is a number of ways.

some heuristically and the rest via blacklist using any number of filtering categories we offer.

the degree of freedom I have when removing trackers is very high due to all of the options at my disposal.

plus I've been blocking trackers longer than our competition has even existed.

I get 50-100 e-mails per day with users reporting trackers or new ads and I myself am constantly scouring the web looking for things to remove.

While I can't give you a specific number or a case by case comparison with any of them I am confident Ad Muncher removes as much as or more than any of the competing products.

Plus it gives you a centrally controlled place from which all trackers are blocked regardless of the browser or application you happen to be using.

The trial period is 30 days long.

unfortunately we don't offer a retail version of Ad Muncher, the overhead would just kill us without much of a benefit.

it's an online app so we can safely assume everyone who uses it has internet already. ;)

I found a porn site last night with some sort of new, embedded advertising. Admuncher actually blocks the ad from playing, but doesn't block the box in the middle at the end of the porn video. I should send that in for Jeff to examine, the most ludicrously gorgeous lady is on it, as a bonus. Since you need to watch the video to the end to see the ad. :D :D

Retail is dead, thank god.. I was an executive for a software company I won't mention. To get one of our games on the shelf of a major retailer, the head buyer for that company sent us a list of what his kids wanted 'for christmas'.. Can you imagine that? In effect, we had to 'buy' shelf space by bribing him. Pathetic. There are a lot of horror stories like this, for example we pissed walmart off, and every store we went in had our product on the bottom shelf, behind other products, and sometimes behind poles.. Retail is so corrupt, it's about time it is basically dead for software.. Long overdue.. Digital Distribution rocks.

    too easy.

    removed for 4389.

both the ad when you pause and the ad at the end of the video.

    anything harder? ;p

    (no pun intended)

I've noticed that AM is making Spotify ad free most of the time and then now and again I get one advert but it cuts straight to music before the other ads can kick in. I'm really liking AM but this unexpected bonus is fantastic.

Jeff, how do you get this to work even on something like Spotify?

I'm happy it's working so well for you. :)

Any application that uses the default windows network stack and standard HTTP protocols can be filtered by Ad Muncher.

I'm not sure Spotify would be happy if they found out lol.

Btw, I just filled out a feedback form for you. I'm very happy, though at the moment I'm spending a lot of my time looking for adverts to block lol.

Thanks. I ran a quick test on a site on which Ghostery blocks multiple trackers on. Ad Muncher caught them all. :)

I've seen one or two "advertisement" boxes with no content in it. So yeah, it'll block the ad, but not the box the ad was in. IFRAME perhaps? I tried to manually kill it, but AM couldn't find anything to block, lol. It's over on AddictingGames.com, I'll send a report in later when I get some free time and see if Jeff can Orkin Man the sucker :D

Yeah, I've dropped both ABP and DoNotTrackMe (although I miss scoring medals for doing absolutely nothing but surfing, lol).

yes i have... well almost, since i use firefox nowadays only if i find the need to use NoScript to check websites.
Ad Mucher blocks most of the scripts on the popular websites, obviously it does noo give you control like NoScript does, but i have not found the need to use NoScript much and consequently firefox.

I'll send that to you as well. I only know it's there because I look at the bottom of the screen as the page loads, and of course the pause/sluggish page loading. I think it's just a tracker.

    Nice. How'd she look? :argh:

Another thing about Opera, no "magic actions for youtube" on opera.. Thats almost a required extension with the mouse-wheel volume on youtube, and the 'light switch' to make youtube dark. I really miss that in opera.

Well you can try this add >> div class="pod" id="likebox" with the quotes in custom filters and set filter category as remove divs/spans with text :p

I almost feel like the only person on this thread not using Opera. I think I'll download it again at some point.
