upon further testing I've found this bug is not just in palemoon but in firefox 18 as well.

Ad Muncher was shutdown completely and I still saw connections to 3rd party domains remain in the status bar indefinitely.

so there's a good chance this bug is in all firefox browsers and their derivatives.

There's nothing we can do about this of course and not making connections clearly isn't an option. ;p

Luckily it doesn't actually cause any problems. :)

Seeing as the year end holiday promotion is almost up was there any last minute questions I could answer about what Ad Muncher can or can't do that might help anyone still on the fence? :)

This, Bullguard2013 and RollbackRX have been my best purchases this year by far. Admuncher has munched close to 100,000 ads since installation a few days ago, and significantly speeded up my browsing.

I was a huge skeptic. Now I'm sold, and may pick up another license or two just for family/friends.

I'm glad it's working so well for you. :)

Try CTRL + right click on a page to see the toolbar.

it has more stats that include trackers and cookies.

Hehe my recommendation worked in your other thread. Seriously though, Admuncher provides a nice layer of protection, and driveby attempts. The best part it adds NO noticeable drag on the system which is awesome.

I noticed it's definitions are updated a lot, like sometimes more than once a day? They seem to come in pretty fast.. Impressive. :thumb: :thumb:

Hi, I see this thread before you tell me, but i didn't took it seriously, after you recommend to me. Wow it is quite impressed me, then i came back asap to buy it before the discount end.

    Thanks again.:)

By the way, i ask Bitdefender at other thread but end up to buy Admuncher, :D

"""The bad news is this is a bug in that browser"""

I have never seen any problems like this expect when Ad Muncher was installed
as soon as I removed Ad Muncher the problem was gone

"""With that being said, it's merely a cosmetic issue"""

I have seen it actually stall the load of the page, sometimes would load
let say 10% sometimes 50% sometimes 90% or anywhere between all those
and I have also seen it hang from 2 or 3 seconds up to thirty seconds before the page would fully load

"""upon further testing I've found this bug is not just in palemoon but in firefox 18 as well"""

A browser is designed to surf the web not to filter ad's which palemmon and
firefox does without this problem "when Ad Muncher is not installed"
It is not the browser responsibility to be compatible with Ad Muncher, it is the other way around
since Ad Muncher is the one that is coming into the browser to filter ad's

I'm glad you have at least seen part of the problem I have bought forward,
at least you know now something is up here, now I still think Ad Muncher is
a great product but it can no longer work for me "until" this problem is solved
looking forward to returning to it as soon as possible and if possible

As I stated in my posts.

both palemoon and firefox did it without Ad Muncher running.

this is 100% a firefox issue.

There is nothing we can do about this.

I have never seen palemoon do it "without Ad Muncher"
and if any firefox user's have seen it "without Ad Muncher"
    please chime in

let's just leave it at that

Thanks JeffreyCole for the wonderful sale I upgraded one of my licenses to Unlimited updates and bought two new Unlimited updates licenses. One for my laptop and the other one for my mom's computer.

I feel comfortable purchasing from a company like Ad Muncher because I know they won't let me down.

Get your fact straights. The dev of the Pale Moon browser backports security fixes from the latest version of Firefox.

"""This is a cut and paste from the Palemoon Dev"""

Reading into the thread filtering out the crap about 32-bit and 64-bit and the fact that the people there seem to think that "Pale Moon is an unpatched Firefox 15" (which I must clearly state here it is not - check the release notes for the list of critical security patches implemented!!) the issue seems to be that the status bar in Pale Moon displays a connection to the admuncher server. This is not a bug in Pale Moon or the status bar code, since the "background network traffic" is properly displayed and will switch to "done" if the connection is actually closed.

It is a defect in ad muncher that one of their http connections remains open and as such Pale Moon will display it in the status bar. If their software would properly close all connections to their checking server, Pale Moon would display "done" in the status bar.
