Acronis True Image Home 9.0 upgrade for Vista

I understand that I must upgrade to 10.0 to be compatatable with Vista. However if I do the upgrade on-line, will I then get the complete version 10.exe file so that I can load it from scratch?

 

Yes. Acronis True Image "upgrades" are always full versions of the product, not patches, even for new builds within the same version number. To install the TI10 upgrade from scratch you will require the serial number for your TI9.0 version as well as the new one issued for TI10.

 

I would hold off on that upgrade if at all possible. There are a number of issues with Vista and TI 10. I myself have only had VERY limited success using TI 10 and Vista (I managed to clone a system disk on a RAID array to a larger RAID array...after some hassles).

I understand that TI 11 has been announced and a delivery date is probably not too far off. I don't know how you feel about going with a brand new major release but it would seem a shame to buy TI 10 so close to this new version being released.

 

You must upgrade from TI 9 to INSTALL TI on Vista. However, you can make and restore backup images from the TI 9 Recovery CD.

Although the CD isn't as fast or convenient for making backups, it will allow you to wait until the new version of TI is released.
