    o_O Hi,
I have a Dell PowerEdge SC430 and Acronis True Image 8. The Dell server doesn't come with PS2 ports. I have an image on the network I am trying to recover. However when I use the Acronis recovery CD in safe option, the network access (computers around me) is not available. If I use the Full version, the USB keyboard and mouse is inaccessible.
I don't understand why the USB keyboard and mouse work on Safe version but not the full version, and why the networking feature is not available on the safe version.
On the Dell server, there is no option in BIOS to enable or emulate legacy ps2 keyboard. Is there a workaround? Please help.
    Thank you.

Upgrade to version 9 - I can attest that version 9 works with the SC430.

I have the image saved on the network so if I create a new bootable cd from version 9, will I be able to restore the image created from version 8?
Otherwise upgrading will not work for me since I wanted to restore not upgrade.

    Hello trueg,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please note that the full version is based on the Linux operating system and uses Linux drivers for getting access to all hardware devices. The safe variant is based on the DOS environment and doesn't provide you with an access to the USB, PCMCIA, SCSI, RAID devices and the network. However, in some cases you are able to access this devices (it depends on the BIOS of the particular computer).

Yes, you will be able to restore the images created with version 8.0 when booted from bootable CD created with Acronis True Image 9.0 Home.

Please download Acronis True Image 9.0 Home trial version in order to check how the product works.

    Thank you.

Thank you very much. I already fixed the problem by downloading the boot cd of Acronis True Image version 9.
With Acronis True Image version 8 boot cd, I was able to use the USB keyboard but didn't have access to the network with Safe version. On the full version, I would assume that network access is enabled but USB keyboard didn't work. The Dell PowerEdge SC430 does not have PS2 ports. I have checked the BIOS and there is no option to emulate legacy keyboard.
Anyway my server is backup online and that was what mattered to me.
    Thank you for the reply.
