Recently, I tried backing up my desktop machine using Acronis TrueImage 9 (2277). It failed with an error. I then tried it on my laptop and it also failed with the same error.

Acronis asked me for the sysinfo which I sent them. They sent me 2383, which seemed to have solve the problem (whether it actually restore on the other hand is yet to be determine :p).

I did note that the version they gave me is not apparently public available for some reason.

    Build 2383 was referred to.
    Perhaps that was a typo?
Perhaps we have to wait until that build to get a stable TI9?

    (emphasis mine)

So, Tech support sent him this build. Probably a test build to see if his problem(s) are solved. :)

They sent him 2283, it will be a long time before 2383 comes along if ever.

I could imagine you might be possibly right :p

    See this:
    - version 8.0 has finished at build 937.
    - version 9.0 released just 1,5 months ago has already build 2289. If Acronis will stick to this approach, we may see version 5000 just before Xmas ;) I am pretty sure that there is more than 3000 bugs in TI 9.0 :\
