ACER 1353LC locks @TI7.638

I try to restore a backup from a acer notebook (1353LC) with the full bootable cdrom created by TI. The backup is on a network drive. It is very strange but the backupprogram freezes random during the restore operation. But on all occasions it stopped at the scanning of drive C: I have resetted the notebook very very often and tried anyting from updating the Bios, scanning the memory for errors, and installing WIN XP again.

It seems that the notebook stops responding when i try to use the touchpad, but an external mouse doesn't work.

 

Ooooops, seems like the acpi=off setting did the trick. But it took me about 7 hours to find out it was a True Image problem and not a notebook problem.

 

Please note that you should use the "acpi=off noapic" parameter (without brackets).

All other variats (i.e. "acpi=off", "acpi=off noacpi") are incorrect.
