Actually, this tell me that Avira has less to prove about their quality than Twister, so can therefore be less aggressive in adding signatures, and/or Twister's database is smaller than Avira's so they have a lot of catching up to do. :cautious:

It is well-known fact that Twister (as many other antimalware signature based software) has smaller database than Avira but I am not so sure that Avira "has less to prove about their quality" than Twister or Rising, for example. Both of them, Twister and Rising, have proactive resident modules and Avira has not.

Have no intention to start "Avira vs. Chinese antimalware software" kind of argue, just want to say that things should not be generalized because in China there are developers who are really trying to make a good antimalware software and do a excellent job.

Who said that German software is better? I certainly did not. Actually, quality of software has nothing to do with nationality. But I experienced it quite often that people claim that only things from their nation are good and people from other nations are idiots. Very funny, if their "superior" products gets tested by independent testers and do not fare so well, they are quick to claim that the tester has no clue how to test propperly (and of course only people of nation xzy are qualified to judge their product). Actually, it's rather sad. There are even people believing these masters of "blame everyone else but i never ever can make one mistake".

Until recently Japanese green tea was considered the best, but the Chinese really make efforts to produce better green tea (pesticides, growth hormones, plant antibiotics, etc ...)
    I am just kidding!
