A suggestion (but not absolutely 'virus-proof' thou), ok?

Try test driving your rig on Linux, for once. Say... Ubuntu release or Foresight Linux. The former has several versions and their liveCD. Both are FREE too.

Why do i suggest the Penguin? Besides having the benefit of never-to-bother 'defragging' (Linux don't have that anyway), the Penguin attracts very miniscule amount of malwares (since all i can think of was "intentional" keyloggers) if you surf the net at your current responsible rate...curious-G.

    That's all great.

However, a massive percentage of Windows users with malware on their systems *never* download porn, nor use Peer2Peer file sharing software.

Opening just *one* spam email, either out of curiosity, or because it wasn't caught by spam filtering and it was opened without first checking 'Do I know his sender?' can infect your system immediately.

Similarly, clicking on a 'link' in a supposedly trusted email (or website) can open you to *immediate* infection.

URL links in *all* emails should *never* be clicked on. They should be copied and pasted into a browser window. That means only the actual visual image of the link is accessed, and not secretly embedded code.

If a link appears as 'click here' or something similar, you should *not* click it, but use your web/mail program settings to show you that email in plain text so you can see what that 'click here' link actually is.

Like the old saying, it only needs an action *once* to end up with a bun in the oven!:D

That's why keeping to *all* of the rules of net behaviour are essential and not just the obvious ones.

You could have gotten it for free from google pack. It doesn't contain a realtime shield but a file monitor. If you like it then be satisfied but generally when it comes to pure anti spywares people here vote superantispyware and counterspy.
