    Hi
    Thanks for reading
I just have to be 100% sure about this:

    On a HD I have 3 partitions C, D and E
    C contains windowsXPproSP2 + programs,
    D contains some programs,
    E contains data,

now C is bekomming too small and there is lots of space on D and E
so I would like to change the harddisk to only have one partition, C
but without loosing any programs on D and data on E

    is that possible ?

You can enlarge C:\ using partition tools
Before doing anything I suggest backup of important data(mails, documents, config files, etc) and defrag all the disk
You can´t resize partitions and move the data at the same time

OK but by enlarging C I take space from D and E, right ? Then what becomes of the programs and data on D and E ?

The way I understand it C is enlarged to the entire harddisk and the programs and data which was on D and E is engulfed by C but not moved anywhere (physicaly still on the same places) - anyway that is what (I think) I want - o_O

You transfer free space from D, E to C. ;)
Resize partitions is a medium-risk practice
