    Hello Inspector Clouseau,
I don't think the info is that personal,I was just informing the Drweb users the attitude of the company. If you look at how ( Mike Nash from Online Armor.) informs his customers, Drweb and Online Armor are miles apart.

Let me clarify for future reference, verbatim passages of any email between 2 or more parties should not be posted here unless prior and explicit agreement to do so has been provided by all parties to the message. Personal has many connotations, including private, i.e. not public.

ok, well ive decided to try my new mcafee licence which ive just recieved from my new ISP (sky BB Max)

will give it a nice run for sure, no point rushing it, gonna give it a nice run, especially as drweb keeps in beta limbo.

also, with my new ISP.. i decided to start from fresh with a format and installation of only the programs i use etc, its all good..... and i feel mcafee is underrated, so we shall see.

    Hello C.S.J.

My ISP also offers free McAfee 3-in-1 license for its customers. I've used it and it's not bad. No slow downs in browsing speed, or on startups and re-starts. Only problem is the AV is not very configurable. But after trying and using so many AVs, I'm beginning to think that's not so bad. :)

    Hi C.J.S.,

I bet you are going to be embarrassed, after you use McAfee awhile, to admit that you like McAfee better than what is it? Dr Web?:D

    Regards,
    Jerry

why, are you thinking of coming over to skyBB?

its the full version of 2007 suite, and they do give upgrades to new versions.

i honestly think its a lifetime licence, as no serials are needed, just an email.

when it runs out, i will just put in another email, it should work :)

the only difference, is it says 'sky broadband' a few times.

    see?

i actually prefer this version, as it gives some nice links to sky customer service or whatever, without 'being in the way'

oh, and i installed it without backup and the firewall as i just dont need those.

The subject of this topic is DrWeb. No offense, but if you folks want to discuss McAfee & screenshots thereof, please start a new thread. Pretty please... okay?

    Hey chris,
    doesnt look to bad.
how does the speed of your laptop like compared with drweb?
does it feel any slower with mcafee?
it would be probaly cheaper to have skyBB since ive already got sky tv.
but my parents are probaly gonna keep bt BB

it actually runs very well, no notice on system resources at all.

if i had to say something, a slight delay on bootup compared to drweb, but drewb is ultra fast at this, so its expected.

i can with drweb and mcafee :)

might replace one with either bitdefender or nod32, as i like to have a change every now and then just for boredem sake.

whats a 'good price' for nod32?

I'm sure trjam has a NOD licence he could give you. If not today, then when he buys another one. Friday perhaps.;) :p

That is a far cry from what I experienced back in '04. When I got this Dell it had NIS '04 and I removed it because it made the computer sluggish. I noticed on one of the discs that came with the computer a copy of McAfee (whatever version it was back then). I installed it and it was even worse than NIS. After ten minutes of that I uninstalled it (it would have been quicker if the computer wasn't so slow, lol).

Good to see that they followed Norton in improving the performance of their products.

I do, I do, but since things like that are not allowed here. Doesnt matter, Eset thinks I am a hacker now of licences because of my frequent requests for refunds. Doesnt matter, those @#$% will never get a cent from me but yes have one for some unlucky person.

I see often McAfee and e-Trust with $0 cost (full rebates).

There must be some kind of big problem when company giving you product free of charge :)

    Hey C.S.J.

I installed McAfee VS11 3-in-1 today that Comcast offers free to its customers. I have to admit, it's not bad. No slow downs in browsing. Didn't notice much of a slow down when doing a re-start compared to NOD32, which is what I was running before installing McAfee. I'll see how it goes when I start the PC up for the first time tomorrow. So far I'm pleasantly surprised.
