i've been looking at a replacement for Chrome sad excuse for a spell checker.
there only 2 alternatives that i saw:
    - After the Deadline
    - Spell Checker For Chrome

i entered the following sentence in all 3 of them:

"ive bein loking acidently for a beter speel cheker for Chrome."
    -------------------------------------------------------------

the underlined words are the ones who failed to correct, either automatically or from manual selection from a suggested list.

    Chrome built in checker:
ive been looking acidently for a beter spell checker for Chrome

    After the Deadline:
ive bein looking acidently for a better spell checker for Chrome (the worst result of the bunch)

    Spell Checker For Chrome:
I've been looking accidently for a better spell checker for Chrome
(the best of the bunch, a perfect score)

it was a very limited test but revealing nonetheless, imo.
i know which one i'm gonna use. ;)

here's the link to the winner:

Well, they took forever to do print preview, and screwed that up too, so the atrocity that is spell check in Chrome isn't surprising, lol. *Incoming possibly dangerous opinion*: Without "Instant" and the sandbox, Chrome would actually be much ado about nothing. At least it got its spell checking solved..bright side to everything, right? :D

well, "Spell Checker for Chrome", despite what the name would suggest, is not made by Chrome but by a 3rd party developer. ;)

but to be fair, Chrome also has a slight speed advantage over IE9 and Firefox. :)

Oh I know it's an extension..a bit sad (and this is for IE too) that a 3rd party had to do something so trivial as allow proper spell checking in a modern browser.

I bought the TinySpell+ many years ago for $10, and still it is the same price.

They also have the FREE version too!

    http://tinyspell.numerit.com/

Works in all programs including the Text.txt and all the browsers.
