Does the update come automatically or do I have to re-download WSA? Running version 8.0.1.44.

It looks like the update is a tiered roll-out... The main package installer is usually what updates first, then rolls out to installed people over time. But the main package is still on the older version. Maybe private beta people got the update?

Otherwise, when an update becomes available to your channel, you will automatically get it within 48 hours if I'm not mistaken.

You seem to guess allot! :p It's best to wait for PrevxHelp to make a comment! Closed Beta users got it for now!

It comes automatic the only reason I know is that Look'n'Stop lets me know that WSA app changed! ;)

Joe I did a clean reinstall of v8.0.1.75 on Win 7 x64 and it installed in C:\Program Files (x86) Webroot Folder: Capture09-01-2012-10.19.46 PM.jpg

Then I uninstalled rebooted and installed again but again in C:\Program Files (x86) Webroot Folder

At the moment, it is just rolled out to the closed beta users. We'll be pushing it out wider soon but at the moment the main changes are just several areas of improved reliability. We're also preparing several other changes for the Enterprise version which are included in the package as well :)

Hi Joe how about my issue above on Win 7 x64 as WSA is installing in the wrong Directory?

Never mind as I downloaded a fresh copy of .75 just now and it installed properly in the correct Directory C:\Program Files\Webroot Folder! :thumb:

    TH

Edit: Here comes a Dumb question does it matter where the Install file is executed? Reason the first time I installed last night and had the issue was from my D drive this time I ran the file from the Download folder on C drive?

Am I correct in assuming that this update has now been released to all, and not just the closed beta testers group? ...Just wondering... ;)

    Still no details from Joe.

    ?

It's easy enough to take information from this forum and other public sources to interpolate an answer. I have an intrinsic interest in seeing WSA work because it's the first thing that doesn't slow down WoW. And since I started working in the security industry in 1995 and computers in general in 1985, I hope I have at least some idea about how some things work. *pout* A lot of my work these days is reverse-engineering stuff to a degree anyways, so it's second nature lately.

So you say that closed beta have .75, which is what I surmised. See https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=1977167&postcount=2 regarding main package installer (web site) having it first (otherwise you couldn't always get the newest version from the site). It quotes 24 hours for most people, so the 48 is an interpolated guess, I do admit that. But I also could be mistaken, like I said. :p I just usually am right. ;)

Don't have it here. Wife doesn't have it. In https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=1977167&postcount=2 Joe says the web site always has the newest, and it's still .44. A download and install of that .44 results in .44 being installed and not .75. Earlier today https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=2000771&postcount=10 Joe said just to closed beta users.

    Interpret as you see fit.

The wrcloudbyinvite.exe is indeed at version 8.0.1.75; I've just downloaded it from the link us closed beta testers were given. I, however, got the new version a few hours ago by right-clicking the WSA icon and on check for updates. It offered me the opportunity to download the new version. The main website version is at 8.0.1.44.

I wonder if .75 will have the changes Joe was talking about...like the enhanced detection algorithm/methods?

Or the prompt on attempt of canceling the cleanup scan? :D

I'm not sure as I don't use Chrome, but maybe other members can say? Also it's not in Opera and IE9x64 that I can confirm!

Heh. :) Text is an evil medium for communication. ;)

You can call it guessing, I'll call it "Deductive Reasoning". :D But yeah, without direct information, any interpolation has to be a guess. I just try to make very safe, edumacated guesses. :D

No, this is relatively low on the priority list still - if a website is actually visited, it will be blocked.
