Well well. But I bet Symantec's just as good (or bad) on 64-bit as on 32-bit...

Off-topic: hbkh, is your name ('hbkh') inspired by the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels on WWE? Just wondering...

Nope, but it was a good try... It really has no meaning, I'm pretty sure I was drunk when I came up with it :D

I finished going though the list of AV's here
    http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,12781885~mode=flat
and couldn't find any other that (atleast publicly) state they support 64-bit... :(

You have to consider that, if you can't find 64 bit virus scanners, then use 32 bit until you do find the right software.

Avast have apparently written 64 bit code, but I downloaded it and found it installed as 32 bit... Symantec are all over the internet on a search I did, but I'm not paying for anti-virus software it's like buying a gun for your local undertaker.

avast! works on Windows XP 64bit Edition. Friend of mine tested it on RC and it worked fine. NOD32 should also work as far as i know and BitDefender 8 too.

Using Avast 64 with XP 65 beta on my dual AMD 64 machine, scanning time is fanatastic.
