As I previously said, I'm under the impression that the product has been ready to be released for sometime now and they are only waiting for Webroot to implement their cloud solution (Prevx, obviously). They could be ready in one or two months, but maybe Prevx4 beta is launched before that. Anyway, I doubt that the official release will happen before Webroot goes cloud.

trust me, this isnt true. It hasnt been ready to release, from what a little birdy tells me and they are now putting some finishing touches on it. At least that is what I heard on CNN.;)

Prevx, aka.Webroot gains nothing from delaying it but has a lot to lose if it isnt ready when they do release it. If it were about the almighty dollar, it would have been set loose quite a bit ago.Actually each day it isnt let loose costs them money. But, they want it right and I applaud them for taking this approach.

Trust me, you wont be let down, from what I hear.*puppy*

When it is ready, it will be announced in this forum. Just keep your eye on the forum for such announcements. That's the best answer you'll get. :)

When it is ready and not 1 minute sooner what else can Joe say o_O he probably can't even say for-sure until then IMHO! The more you ask it's not going to make it come any sooner. And don't forget that a Forum Member started this thread and not a Prevx staff member!

I also visit every day, but I don't ask any "when is it here?/what's happening?" type of question because I know that when it's ready, it will be posted in this forum by PrevxHelp. There's no point in people asking the same query over and over. :)

All this asking about new version reminds me of childhood days getting close to Christmas. "How many more days, huh? huh? Please daddy, how many more til Santa comes." Ole papa got fed up w/it and one day he says to me, "If you ask me that ONE more time, I'll put a bug out for Santa to NOT even stop here." Boy, that shut me up.....quick! :argh:  :D

I can't say for sure, but I'm guessing that "all this asking" is originating from the same small handful of people. It ain't like the Wilders' masses are pounding on the door demanding info on the release. It's like six people. :)

i find it ironic that there are virtually the same amount of posts from 'people who cant wait patiently' as the people who are ridiculing the people who cant wait patiently *puppy*

If 4.0 is all that I'm hearing and thinking it might be, then it will be Prevx and Sandboxie for me, and that will do it. Vipre Premium is filling that role very nicely for the time being.

This is a suggestion that I'd like to see it happening, due to late events.

Recently (How recently, I got no clue...), I started to notice strange events happening in a relative's system. It turns that it was infected with a rootkit. I didn't bother checking what else was there, besides an infection SAS 5 took care.

But, during my brief investigation, I did notice that Prevx SafeOnline (facebook version) was constantly showing red alerts, but whenever I went to see what it was about, scans would always come clean.

I asked PrevxHelp why this was happening, and unfortunately I couldn't get a log anymore, as my relative took the laptop to the computer shop, due not wanting to wait until I got out of bed... lol

Anyway, what I'd like to see is that Prevx keeps a log of every infection found, including the file name, path, hash (sha1 ;)), and the option to send the logs to an e-mail, giving the option to choose the period of time we'd want to receive such logs.

This would help me and many other people understanding what may be happening in somebody's system, even when no other security application alerts the users.

Otherwise, I feel like I'm chasing ghosts with current way it works.

Just something I think it would be useful to have.
