4.0 beta release date?

Firefox 4 is releasing on 22nd march so we will get the prevx beta b4 that .. right ?

Im sure it has alot of checks and balances to go though to make sure its ready for beta. But from what I see so far it looks like its close. Tho Close can mean between now and eternity but we will see. =D

My Prevx RC has just told me there's new version available.....this could be 4.0?
But don't think you can update on top of v3?

 

No it isn't - we've made a minor change to Prevx 3 which will be out for an update in the next few days

 

Thanks Joe, false alarm. Wasn't expecting any more updates to v3.

that means we dont see prevx before firefox 4. Can we expect before this month?

 

All of you keep asking for a answer when its going to be released. Your not going to get a solid date this is Alpha software until it moves to beta status that means they are working the major bugs out first on a select audience.

It will come when its ready and when the Alpha tests or Internal testers say its ready for beta. So until then do like the rest of us are doing and sit on your hands and make funny faces to distract your self from posting "Release it now Posts"

This topic stated in Oct 2010 First week now this is end of march 2011. it's been 6 month, but still we did not see the beta version. since 6 months this baby is still in the alpha version only. that is why i ask that question.

4.0 is indeed 2011. We're ensuring that our alpha will be more stable than most vendors' final releases Just because this thread was started a while ago does not mean that we were planning to release it a while ago, either... users apparently just enjoy speculating

Will we be able to try prevx 4 with the licence we already have for prevx 3?

If we don't like it can we switch back to prevx 3?

There doesn't seem to be much information about what prevx 4 will be other than a few tantalising glimses scattered about various threads. It would be nice to see a side-by-side list of what additional things will be in 4 compared to 3.

 

At the moment, I am not authorized to publicly disclose additional details on what will be new in Prevx 4, however, I believe the upgrades to Prevx 4 will be free so you will be able to use your Prevx 3 license (or a modification on it like we did from Prevx 2 to Prevx 3).

 

My recent correspondence in the forum on this matter was:
"Re-reading previous correspondence, I am again struck by the unhelpful, even uncaring, 'take-it-or-leave-it' attitude.
My understanding is that you offer a 10% discount off full price to renew Prevx 3 for a year, knowing that I will be expected to pay again for Prevx 4, which seems to be only days or weeks away.
Have I understood this correctly?"

.. and the reply:
"I am sorry if you think this is unfair; however as mentioned before, we will still be fully supporting Prevx 3.0. You are not required to upgrade to Prevx 4.0 when this is released.
Your level of protection will not be affected as a result of you sticking with Prevx 3.0."
